Yep. If you take a look at the wiper controls while autopilot is engaged, you'll notice that the setting defaults to auto and cannot be changed until you disengage autopilot. AP demands a clear windshield.

Too bad the wipers suck, so having them wipe has nothing to do with seeing clearly.
