Can't remove charger from car at a supercharger? Possible bug? Simple fix.

I have charged many times at a supercharger and when finished I simply press unlock on the screen and then get out of the car to remove the charger cable. Last night I couldn't unlock it that way. I tried to unlock from the phone app and that didn't work either. If you find yourself in this predicament there is an easy solution. Simply press the round button on the charger (see attached picture) and then the car will be freed! I wonder if the cold weather update created this bug?

I am not beating up @Paul C's Tessi , but I am baffled each day that people are not aware of that button. It isn't perfect either, I was at a SC last Wednesday night and that button actually wouldn't open my charge door, but I am surprised at the number of people that don't seem to be aware of it. It is my only way to open the charge door unless, of course it fails once in a while.

One thing you don't want to do is to start pressing the button over and over. Because pressing it once, it unlocks. If you press it again, it locks again. You can tell when you can pull the charger out when the light shows as light blue. But when the light turns dark blue, it means it's locked and you need to press the button the charger once to unlock it. And very important, when you press it once to unlock it, it will lock again after a short amount of time. So when you press the button, the light turns light blue, pull it out. If you wait too long, it'll turn dark blue, and it'll stay locked.

I see people at Superchargers struggle with this, and what usually ends up happening is they just keep pressing the button over and over and pulling the charger out at the wrong time.

Agree, but... one time I pushed and it stopped Supercharging and instantly relocked and started Supercharging again, next attempt same, so I held the "button" down, (watched charging* stop on my screen) and it stayed unlocked and I was able to remove while holding the button down. Never happened before (i've previously used the exact same location/unit in the normal way without problem). *Note, don't think you'd want to remove while charging ⚡ was active!

Oh - and then there is the rumor (or fact, I didn't try it) that if you push the button 10 times really fast the Tesla logo will show all the colors of the rainbow.

I got a Red Tesla logo over the weekend while trying to remove the cable after charging at a Supercharger, accompanied with error messages on the screen about charging disabled or something along those lines. After trying everything to unlock the cable, to no avail, I had to pull the cable in the trunk so that I could remove it.

Not even sure what I did to create the problem, but everything worked as normal for the rest of my trip.

Whenever I want to stop charging before it's finished I always just press the button "stop charging" on the touchscreen first. That'll stop the charging and turn the light on the charge port from green to dark blue, ready for you to unlock and pull.

I really, really want to slap whichever engineer thought that these were the best two color choices.
Same as the engineer/imagineer that made the disney smart bracelet colours. Green good, blue bad. Red would break the magic as it means something is wrong. Blue and Green are both positive feels.
