Cracked roof glass, what to do?

From what I have read here, TESLA glass is a significant problem huh ?
Nope, not at all. Glass in general is just problematic. It happens to all brands. You only hear about Tesla because... you own a Tesla, and your glass cracked so you went looking for it.

If you go looking around at other car forums, you'll see the exact same things reported in all of them.

BMW:
Mercedes:
Toyota:

I have a Saab 2008 Combi wagon with 160,000 miles on it I've never had to replace the glass
I had a 1999 Dodge Intrepid with 175,000 miles. I also never had to replace a single pane of glass. But our anecdotes are not proof that Saab and Dodge are masters of glass manufacturing any more than your single broken roof pane is proof that Tesla glass is inferior.

It just means that you were unlucky.

Most auto insurance companies offer a lower deductible for glass replacement specifically because it happens so often. There are companies that specialize in nothing but replacing auto glass, for the same reason.

Thank you for all the links to all the glass issues with expensive luxury cars I didn't realize they were all so fragile if you can't close the door on a BMW without cracking the moonroof...
You seem intent on missing the point. This isn't specific to luxury cars. It isn't specific to any brand.

Glass is finicky. Glass sometimes cracks for no good reason.

Here are some more posts about non-luxury vehicles.
