After a rough couple of weeks for Twitter employees, new CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the company is now done with layoffs.

As per sources from The Verge, during an all-hands meeting with the 2,700 remaining employees, Musk said the company is now recruiting for roles in engineering and sales.

He also noted that Twitter employees are encouraged to refer friends or colleagues to the company.

Musk did not specify what the roles would be doing, but did note that the focus at the moment is people who can write software.

This is not a big surprise, as the previous reporting by The Verge noted that Twitter recruiters were already asking engineers to join Twitter 2.0 – an Elon company.

We also saw Musk address the rumours of moving Twitter’s HQ to Texas.

Musk noted that he does not plan to move Twitter’s HQ to the lone star state, but may open a second HQ in the future.

However, his reasoning is intriguing, as it appears to be politically motivated.

If we want to move the headquarters to Texas, I think it would play into the idea that Twitter has gone from being left-wing to right-wing, which is not the case. This is not a right-wing takeover of Twitter. It is a moderate-wing takeover of Twitter.
We are sure this will not be the last all-hands meeting in the next few weeks, but it looks like things at Twitter may finally be starting to settle for now.
