Autopilot is now nothing more than cruise, maybe advanced cruise. Summon and auto parking, everything else has been moved to FSD.

EAP was $5000 and now it is $3000. That's an additional $2000 difference but including doc and delivery I paid $56,700. Right now it looks like it is $48,700
You need to consider that the new $3000 Autopilot package has less functionalities compared with the package I bought back in September. For a fair price comparaison I believe that you must also include FSD at $5000.

I reconfigured my car with AWD + red paint + Autopilot + FSD and I got the same price I paid .

From what I am reading and compare to old EAP, looks like you will need to pay $8,000 more in order to get close to what we have for EAP? so if you want fully loaded M3, looks like is more?

Here's what I'm thinking guys. We paid $5k for basically all the AP features that are now available on their website. Today people can pay $8k for all of those features PLUS access to future FSD or $3k for just EAP. I'm ASSUMING that the missing features (drive on streets, recognize street lights/stop signs) will only work on HW3. The way Tesla will reconcile this is likely charging us $3k for the HW3 module which comes with FSD. Thoughts?

I'd go for it. There's always hope that, as early adopters, we get a price break. It won't be free because there are hundreds of thousands Model 3 out there.

So what does this mean to the folks that has a Tesla (new & used) without EAP activated? Seems like if you did drop the 5~7k prior you ended up getting more features after this ESP/FSD restructuring?

yep eap before gets more features, but look at it this way on some models there is a price decrease so I now know to wait a few months for when I get a model y unless I can't help myself.

Well, configuring a Model 3P like mine (see sig) is now 10k less than I paid (w/o $3750 tax credit reduction that happened Jan 1).

Autpilot might be explained about in the CAN decoding... there are four values: None, Highway, Enhanced, and FSD. Clearly this new $3000 option is Highway, and those of us that paid $5k get Enhanced. This has been in the works for a while...
Iiiiinteresting. Hey @JWardell, I just put this together:

Does that look about right? If so, we're looking at a difference of about $3k for the new capabilities.

I wonder if they will offer to upgrade those of us who got enhanced auto pilot to FSD for less than the $3,000 that was originally quoted.
Yeah, I could see this starting to shape up. Fingers crossed this works out in our favor.

I just posted this in the announce thread but wanted to share in this conversation too:

I that looks about right, we're talking approximately $3,000 difference for current Enhanced Autopilot owners to get to FSD. It will be interesting to see how they handle the change for existing EAP owners.

This is definitely upsetting.. I payed 8000 more for the car than if I waited until now. It offsets the tax credit which I still could get half of us top of the savings and now I get less features? If it goes like this it’s not right.

@eXntrc I think your chart is a good attempt to put some clarity to the change. But I would note that the situation is a little more complex than pre/post 2/28. FSD used to be on the website (until last Fall sometime) and had a price of $3k. I'm wishing I had a screenshot of what it used to say. For FSD, it used to take $5k EAP + $3k FSD = $8k total, and now that's exactly the same: $3k autopilot + $5k FSD = $8k total.

EAP is down to $3k ($4k after delivery)
FSD is back on the order page for $5k ($7k after delivery)
Ummm. The LR RWD with MSM, Aeros, and EAP is $8000 cheaper than when I bought mine in August. Even with the tax credit difference, that HURTS me lol.
EAP is DEAD. It is no longer being offered.
Now it's just Autopilot again. No summon, no navigate on autopilot, and no self-parking. You need to purchase FSD to get those features now.

There are three autopilot-related options now.
  • Autopilot - this is just TACC + lane keeping
  • Enhanced Autopilot - this is no longer being offered. It adds NOA, summon, and self-parking
  • FSD - Now you have to purchase this if you want the old EAP features.
So don't compare the new Autopilot prices to the old EAP prices.

Except now after purchasing FSD they get true FSD when it's released while we have to pay potentially $7k more.

There's no way they would take away features from current owners but I'm not down with the FSD and EAP features for $8 when I'll now have to pay $7k more for FSD on top of what I already paid for EAP. I understand price drops are possible but it's sort of becoming extreme.

The price they are showing of $7k after delivery for FSD is after autopilot (AP without an E), this new option that came into being 2 hours ago. It is for new cars being ordered starting now. I don't think it says anything about what existing owners with EAP would have to pay to upgrade to FSD. I expect EAP to now stay more stagnant -- hopefully improving the performance of the features it has, but not adding any new "tricks."
