Has anyone that ordered on 2/28 actually received a VIN # or a call from Tesla yet? I know I'm being impatient, but I keep clicking refresh and it's still not showing a VIN! :p

EDIT: also anyone that ordered the week before?

It looks like we are getting the first VINs assigned to the Non-owner-Feb-22nd folks in the past couple days. The cars seem to be going to WA and East Coast (PA, NC, MS). Yes, this west-coaster thinks Mississippi is on the East Coast. :p It is on the way to NC though...

Thanks so much for the heads up! I can't see the spreadsheet from work, so I probably ask a lot of obvious questions :p

Ordered 2/5, still waiting for VIN, think a couple others here ordered around same time and also waiting.

It's March 6.... Coooool, my San Diego friend... remember you're already ahead of the pack!! :D
LoL. I know. Before I was refreshing all the time hoping for my invite, now I'm refreshing all the time waiting for my VIN.... it won't end until the car is in my posession. :D When I take delivery, I'll be constantly waiting to see when the next software update gets pushed to the car. :p

Got call from Tesla today, (Nevada number). Was told car is being prepped to be put on the train and will receive another call in a few days for delivery date. He said most likely 2 weeks out.
Man, 2 weeks to deliver to Boston. I hope it doesn't take that long to ship to San Diego! :p I'm tempted to tell them my delivery location will be Fremont if that'll get it to me faster. :)

Hi everyone!

I wanted to open a different thread to discuss the invite/delivery status for those who are NOT receiving an update, or just want to discuss issues related with this, like why San Diegans are blessed with early invitations and similar stuff (I'm watching you, SD!)

The idea is to keep the official status thread only with "data points" (people who actually received an invitation/vin number/delivery). Hopefully that will make life easier for Michael Russo and the moderation team members that try to keep that thread as clean as possible.

Tomorrow is Wednesday again, so probably a new batch of invitations will arrive. Let's try to keep the parallel discussion about it, and all those "I did not receive mine" here!

Fantastic initiative, Joaquin, thank you.
:cool::cool::cool:

To those who wonder why I've been so demanding on the other thread, couple of reasons...
- this thread has been exploding in recent weeks, particularly as non-owners' invites started to show up
- some inputs and/or questions have started exchanges which, for clarity & coherence were better placed in a different thread, existing or new
- the lingering yet understandable impatience of many of you (we Europeans, Aussies & other world areas aliens... are merely watching in awe from a distance... ;)) led to many posts with just inquiries or frustrations which all in all, make it harder for posts with actual input about tangible events happening much more difficult for all to notice...!

The idea to keep the 'Official Invite & Delivery' thread pure for the purpose of ease of reference by opening this new thread, where you can let yourself go with all the other stuff, will greatly help clarity! Thanks again, Joaquin.

And please don't forget where appropriate this other thread with all things VIN progression... ;)

I will say, I find it very interesting that some people are getting e-mail invitations while the rest of us are having to refresh our My Tesla pages. Similarly, once ordered, some (same people) are quickly contacted by an ISA even if they're only told it'll still be 3-6 weeks.

I know some can be attributed to squeaky wheels but others seem unsolicited.

Is that what you were getting at with this thread?

Speaking for @Joaquin , as I feel he got my intent totally...

Yes, for this and any other post which does not specifically provide useful information to us all about an invite received, a VIN obtained or a delivery date set, all these tangible news items belonging in the 'Official Invite & Delivery' thread... right Joaquin? ;)

I’m starting to see many model 3s around my area! (Near 605 and 91 freeways) Today I saw 4 other m3s. One red, two silver and two black. Three had paper plates still.

They’re definitely here!!!

On another note I am in denial if I'll get an invite today. Hopefully that happens :) According to Troy's spreadsheet yesterday should have been my day but I know it is a Wednesday/Thursday thing.

I really hope that Dallas invites finally get uncorked today. It seems that Dallas deliveries are finally taking off, so there's hope it's happening soon.

I did see 3 other 3s now in the lot and he said they have over 100 on the way in the next 2 weeks and the team is working 12-15 hour shifts to keep up as the flood gates have opened in Dallas. He acknowledged the delays in Texas and said they are really struggling to keep up now moving forward as it really ramps up and they are considering an offsite show room/delivery center if need be.
I hope that I have good news to share later today about my invite, but for now, I wait anxiously patiently.

Line waiter from Marietta, GA here.. fingers crossed I get my invite today.

Remember to check your Tesla account. Not everyone is receiving the invitation to configure email from Tesla. Even if you do get an email, sometimes it's long after the system lets you configure.

About what time do the invites open up each week in PST time zone? I just want to get an idea of when I should start checking.

On 2/22 it was around 11AM I believe.

IIRC, we've seen recent batches open up as early as 9am PST and as late as ~3pm PST, so that time period on Weds/Thurs is when I've been hammering F5 harder than usual.

It's varied quite a lot. 2/22 might have been special as the first non-owner invite batch and the story was "leaked" to the press and released at noon Eastern. I think other weeks it's been anywhere from afternoon Wednesday to afternoon Thursday Pacific time. And who knows, maybe they'll need to skip a week. There's no shortcut here...I suggest just checking early and often! (that's what I'll be doing--the next batch, whenever it is, is the first one I reasonably expect to be in).

I've got mine loaded. So far no luck for me at it's 10 AM. I think I'm going to be checking every hour or so here.

When you log into your account, would you immediately know you’ve received and invitation to configure, or is that only visible after you click on the “Manage” button with your reservation #?

#42 ·
We accidentally stumbled across our invite in February by logging onto our account (Model S owner, 4-1-2016 Model 3 reservation). We didn't know until we clicked the "Manage" button for our Model 3 reservation. We found out before we saw our email invite. Don't know if that was a case of fortunate timing or not.

Only AFTER you click on Manage.

Here are the links I have bookmarked to check constantly. Just add your reservation numbers to get them to work properly

https://www.tesla.com/teslaaccount/profile?rn=RNXXXXXXX
This is the page after clicking the "manage" button. A button should appear below the car picture when it's time to configure.

https://3.tesla.com/model3/delivery-estimate
This is the delivery estimate page. The first production box will change to say "available in 4-6 weeks" and have a button when it's time to configure.

https://3.tesla.com/model3/design/RNXXXXXXX
This is the the configurator link that should supposedly start working when it's time to configure. If it takes you to your Tesla vehicles listing, it's not yet time to configure.
