Florida Tesla driver was traveling 3x the speed limit moments before crash
According to an initial investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the driver of a Tesla Model 3 accelerated to three times the speed limit moments before a fiery crash.
Investigators with the NTSB said the vehicle reached 90mph (145km/h) because the 20-year old driver was attempting to go through a yellow light.
As the driver cleared the intersection, the car lost control and veered off into a median.
The car then hit a tree on the driver's side, spinning it around and hitting another tree on the passenger side.

The car then burst into flames. Both the driver and 19-year old passenger died at the scene.
An analysis of data from the severely damaged event data recorded (EDR) showed the accelerator was pushed to 100%, and the brakes were never engaged.
There was no mention in the report of Autopilot or any driver-assist feature being engaged.
The crash remains under investigation, and the NTSB will issue its final report at a later date.
