During a cold and rainy spell in CA, RATS got into a hollow post attached to my driveway gate, through which my Tesla charging cable was threaded to reach my car in the driveway out front. Apparently they chew to wear down fast-growing teeth!? I have had to replace the entire charger, because Tesla does not sell parts/cable/connector.

They chewed through the rubber and into the wiring inside, AND into the rubber around the nozzle, and it stopped charging. I've just replaced it, and covered the cable with Alex Tech Split Sleeving (mesh) plus a layer of hard plastic split sleeving.

I have also blocked the entrance to the hollow post to keep the rats from climbing in.

Find one on eBay that's dead but has an intact charging cable. Replace cable. Now you have a spare that you can use or sell.
I agree. Or sell yours on eBay as perfectly functioning but needs the charge cable replaced. That way someone can replace it with another Tesla charging cable or with a J1772 charging cable.

I myself have purchased two non-functioning units on eBay just for the Tesla charge cables, to use on some other charging equipment.
