You can get an extension cable that goes between the mobile connector and your car but they are pretty expensive. For example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B99CQVQ6/
NEMA 14-50 extension cables are cheaper. The benefit of extending the charging cable instead is the mobile connector's built-in outlet overhead detection will still work since it's plugged directly into the wall instead of into an extension cord. Plus as you said you can keep the mobile connector inside close to the outlet.
Good catch, didn’t see that on mobile. But OP will be able get equivalent products where they live—hopefully there are lesa expensive options too!
