How to remove passenger side hush panel?

Hi all,

I'm trying to install a Tesstudio CarPlay decoder and as usual their instructions are terrible for the juniper.

I need to remove the panel under the glovebox which the best I can tell is referred to as the footwell hush panel. Everything I can find says it’s held by clips but it sure doesn’t budge when you pry it. There are two sets of star bolts that I think are holding it but I couldn’t get them off because I don’t have the right sized socket. I’ve ordered a socket but it’s not here yet.

Can anyone confirm if it really is just a set of clips? If so I’ll go harder.

thanks

Don't mess with the star bolts, those hold the entire dashboard structure in.

I haven't taken apart a new Model Y yet, but most likely it's either going to have the same V-clips as the center console and pillar covers, or it will have pushpin type like this:

Look under:
  • 14 - Instrument Panel
    • 1405 - Instrument Panel
      • Hush Panel - Footwell - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace)

Actually, those appear to hold the knee airbag in place.
If you need to remove that look under:
  • 20 - Safety and Restraint
    • 2001 - Airbags
      • Knee Airbag - RH (Remove and Replace)
