How does MS treat services like VROOM, Carvana, etc.?? They're not a dealerships.
Yeah, but they only sell USED cars, not new ones and a USED car dealer doesn't have to have a 'franchise' - franchises are for RICH car dealers (that's why most of them own several at the same time) and make TONS of money on 'extras' they talk you into AFTER you 'buy' a car'...
Tesla doesn't HAVE any 'dealerships'... They only have SHOWROOMS! You still have to buy the cars online, even if it's AT the showroom (at least the one I bought from in Jan.).
This has many advantages, the first one being PRICE!! Can you imagine what the price of a new CyberTruck (selling for, say $75k) would be at a dealership that just got one or two of them in? They would add the infamous DEALER MARKUP of about $25,000 to it!! Yeah, gotta love that 'dealer markup' which basically means "HUGE EXTRA PROFITS"...
Well, they will just end up putting in more 'Service' stores then I guess... Service locations that will have nice computers that go directly to Tesla's website - you know, for the waiting clients or weary travelers who happen by... But no cash registers, no salesmen, no paperwork even... hmmm... just like they are now...
