Extends range by up to 37 miles?! Sounds like voodoo. Time to burn rubber on my brand new HTR Enhances, I guess.
Yeah, I'd like to know compared to what and on which car.

But nonetheless, Michelin knows tires. And having built tires for multiple seasons of Formula E, they've had to have learned some good lessons about EV's and tires. After all, Formula E uses tires that are essentially treaded street tires, and one set needs to last the entire weekend. And be usable wet or dry. Unlike traditional race slicks.

Important note:
I read the press release on this one and in the fine print they disclose that the range increase is compared to the Pilot Sport 4 SUV.
Which is very impressive, but obviously if you're running something that's already top-shelf efficient like the MXM4 you might not see much if any of a range improvement. However that's STILL impressive, as you can now get that kind of efficiency from a true UHP tire. Unreal!
Now if they could only make an A/S version... :)

Definitely aimed at the Performance variant drivers with the summer tires. Nice gain!

Well, I hope you can get closer to 40k out of them than the just over 20k I achieved with the MXM4s.

Hmmm that could be a stretch for a 320 treadwear, but if the EV-torque resistant properties work as advertised it might not be out of the question.

I am interested in suggestion on replacing our 18 "tires. I do like Michelin but am open to other options.
So far tire place is rec either (all Michelin)
Pilot sport a/s 235/45/18
Primacy Mxm4 P235/45R18 94V OEM
Primacy Tour a/s p235/45R 18 94V
They say this last one is more recent version of the primacy mxm4

I live in Ontario and only need these for non winter months.
 
Looking for a set of all-seasons for my 18 inch stock wheels. My priority rank is:

1. Low Noise
2. Ride Comfort
3. Range / Low rolling resistance
4. Durability
5. Cost
6. Performance / Handling

I live in California so snow (and even rain) is not really a concern. I don't have any other specific needs, just would like something a little quieter and more comfortable than the stock tires.

Out of those three it all comes down to how you drive...

If average-to-relaxed - Primacy Tour, efficient, comfortable and longer wearing than the MXM4.
If spirited - Pilot Sport A/S, great handling with much better temperature range than its pure summer cousin, surprisingly efficient and decent durability to boot.
 
@Mad Hungarian I am also looking for quiet first, but at almost any price. How would the Falken Pro G5 compare to others recommended for a quiet ride:

Goodyear Assurance Maxlife
Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack
Continental PureContact LS

I just purchased the Falken Pro G5 from Tire Rack and had them shipped to the nearest Discount Tire. I had them installed Thursday.

All I can say is: @Mad Hungarian - you are the best for bringing these to our attention.

I can't imagine why anyone would buy Michelin PS 4's anymore. I've gone through 2 sets of PS 4's - which made me intamately familiar with the road noise the Michelins produce.

These Falkens are fantastic. Under 40 MPH you can't hear road noise at all. How did they do that? I originally thought that the foam in my Michelin PS 4's would have definitely made them the most quiet summer tire I could buy.

Secondly....The Falken grip is identical to my Michelins.

The only thing left to test is the range. I've gone through 2 sets of PS 4's and they averaged around 30K per set. I have no intention on substituting my winter Michelins ( unless @Mad Hungarian has another suggestion ) as I've had those for 2 winters - about 30K also.

I'll keep you posted.

I've been a big fan of this company for a long time now, they are definitely one of the best kept secrets out there. Much like Yokohama they spend an unusually high percentage of their annual budget on R&D and it shows in how close they get to Tier 1 performance in so many of their products but at a really reasonable price.
Just found out that they are coming out with a replacement for my long-lost love, the FK450 A/S mentioned earlier in this thread that is closely related to the DT-exclusive Pro G5. later this year. Anxious to see what they have cooked up :) .
 
Just had the 18" OEM tires replaced on my 2018 Model 3 Long Range with Michelin CrossClimate2. They were 3/32 in the back and 4/32 in the front at about 14,600 miles. I drive primarily on local roads and not very aggressively. I guess all that stop-and-go at red lights really takes a toll!

Called Michelin first to start a claim. America's Tire was able to apply a whopping $726 credit from Michelin with no issues. Plus, they have a $70 instant rebate on Michelin right now.

My cost for the 4 new CrossClimate2 tires was $86 total (all fees, installation, and taxes included). I was expecting a little Michelin credit but this was just incredible!
 
I have almost 4,000 Km on them now and have lost 2/32 inches of tread.
That rate of wear pretty much matches the MXM4 original tires which were finished at 22,000 Km. However, I'm hopeful that my wear so far is part of new tires settling in.

Unfortunately I had assumed that the originals were picked by Tesla to last a more reasonable distance, and that my alignment from the factory was correct. Bad assumptions. I took the Owner's Manual at face value recommending rotation at 20,000 Km so didn't pay enough attention to wear.
Now they've changed the rotation schedule to 10,000 Km, and I'm measuring tire tread across each tire every month.
We'll see.
On all other factors - efficiency, noise, grip in bad weather, handling, etc. - I'm happy with the CC+.
Now at 6,000 Km on the CrossClimate+ tires and no further tread wear: still down about 2/32 from new along the equator/centre and 1-2/32 along the north & south parallels. Very little highway driving and keeping to Chill mode because of that.

I’ve read 60% of the posts here, and also looked at the tire rating chart.
I’ve now narrowed my options down to these five tires. As the Mad Hungarian mentioned, it’s best to get opinions from forum members on things like noise because the chart isn’t just for model 3’s.
I’m hoping to get suggestions/opinions.
I have two sets of rims so I already have a set of winter tires for winter driving in Ontario.

I have a 2018 Model 3, AWD
Most important:
1. Longevity
2. Noise
3. Ride quality.
(I’m not concerned about the load ratings).

I’m thinking about these five tires.
A). Goodyear Assurance Maxlife
B). Michelin Cross Climate Plus
C). Michelin Primacy Tour A/S
D). Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack
E). Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus

Few questions.
The Primacy Tour & the Turanza QuietTrack have no ratings on the chart posted, so I’m hoping someone can help with how those two compare. In the above three areas I’m interested in.
Also, can anyone confirm if the pirelli Cinturato is kind of noisy, as the chart suggests?

Oh boy.

We had a quick snow surprise here in Chicago today.

The Summer Falcons act just like my Michelin PS4's. Identical.

They don't like snow. Those guys slid around everywhere. No grip in the snow.

But to be fair - the are clearly marked "summer tire".

Just want to send out an update for those interested in Falkens.

FYI....I do like them in the rain more than I liked the Michelins. Why? Because they don't seem to hydroplane on the expressway like the Michelins. I used to dread puddles on expressways. I still avoid them, but I had to test the Falkens.

Strange. I've felt that the OEM PS4S were actually really good in the rain. Excellent grip in the wet. But maybe I've just managed to avoid deeper puddles.
 
2018 RWD LR. Got 26K miles on original MXM4’s. 18” Aero rims.

Need recs for replacements. Mixed driving, fwy, city, So. CA so no snow, little rain.

Great forum here....many choices.

Although great tires, trying to avoid pricy Michelins.

Prefer low noise, smooth ride and comparable range and grip to MXM4’s.

Wanted to try Continental PureContact LS. Have them on another car but they don't seem to make them for the 3. Only 94 load range. The 3 requires 98. Mentioned here were Falkens. No experience with this brand but sound promising. Kind of concerned they are Summer tires though.

Please chime in with your faves for replacements for 18”. Thanks!

Some in this thread have had good luck with getting a warranty credit that would apply to a new set of Michelins. If you can get that, a new set of Michelins might actually be your lowest cost option.
