I took delivery of a Model Y at the end of December. When driving I find that the pedal feel is heavy. Is there a setting for this? Or perhaps my seat is too far from the pedal causing this feeling ? Any advice appreciated.

I have M3, but I also find it heavy compared to all other EVs I've driven for more than a test drive (Leaf, ID.4, IONIQ 5, Bolt EUV). However, I have come to realize that is not a bad thing with one pedal driving which is forced on us, since most of the time you will just need that pressure that is either doing a slight regen or a small acceleration, and the amount of force required for that is just right for the weight of the foot. No need to keep pushing or preventing it to go up, somehow it is very natural. IF we had a coast mode, it would need to be softer, so I assume other manufacturers took this into account since they all allow coasting mode.

Perhaps the "heaviness" is an illusion due to regen braking? If you are not used to keeping your foot on the pedal all the time and only letting off pressure to control speed then your foot might get tired as well.

I meant the feel is heavy is while driving .
Doesn't really tell us much when you say it's 'heavy'... Try turning the car 'off' (under safety) and then get down there with your hand and check it out when it's off... see what it feels like...

Then, put in in 'park' (on) and try the same...

You may not be used to the 'regenerative' braking system (I hardly EVER even touch the brake pedal anymore!). It forces you to keep a certain amount of pressure on the accelerator pedal or it effectively turns into the 'brake' pedal...

If you are concerned, take it in for service and/or try driving another car (same model) to see if it's really different...

Yeah after a month I have gotten used to it. Just that when I go to my gas car I tend now to stomp on the gas pedal.:)

Sounds like you might have the vehicle set to "Chill" mode? That will require the accelerator to be pushed down more than normal.
If so, try turning that off.

Actually, I think that in Chill mode, as it requires more pedal travel for the same effect, the feeling would be that it is not as "hard" since it requires less precise press position. An analogy would be pushing a car from behind: to start it off and for a small push you have to go from zero to overcoming full inertia of the car and it feels much harder than pushing it further after that.

It's not clear what @vjkumar means when he says that the pedal feel is "hard".

But in his last post, he said:

To me, that sounds like he's complaining that he has to press the accelerator in the Tesla too far to get the same effect that he had in his other car. That sounds like Chill mode.

But again, it's not really clear. I could be wrong.

You are right, I was explaining why I think why it should not feel harder in chill mode in general.
