I rented a Model 3 from Hertz. I had been using it for a week. Hundreds of miles on it. I was the first renter of that car. Had 4 miles on the odometer when I picked it up.

A week later, I need to take my family to the airport 50 miles away, go to put the car in drive and a bunch of error codes are displayed and the car went no where. I was not attempting to charge. It was parked in a parking lot.

Errors were:
BMS_a107 Unable to charge
BMS_a105 Vehicle may not restart
BMS_a098 Unable to charge
BMS_a050 Unable to charge

Does anyone have any idea what went wrong with this car?

Took 5 hours for Hertz to get me a replacement. My family took a Lyft to the airport.

I thought tesla had switched 12v batteries to lithium ion and dead 12v batteries were a thing of the past. I had been driving the car around for a week so if it had been sitting around before, it had not been for the last week.
Worried because at the time I was considering buying one.
Since then I came back home and did take delivery of a RWD M3 just like it except for white interior. Hope it doesn’t happen to my car. We haven’t been stranded by an ICE car in many many years.
