New Tesla Cybertruck photos leak giving us closest look yet at updated design

A pair of new photos of the Tesla Cybertruck have emerged, giving us a great look at the updated design of the electric truck.

The first photo appeared on the CybertruckOwnersClub forum, giving us a three-quarter front view of what we believe is the current Alpha build of the Cybertruck.

The obvious changes from the original prototype include the removable side mirrors and large wiper blade, which Elon Musk has already said might change in design before hitting production.

We also get a great view of the Cybertruck's wheels. Only the original prototype has featured the aero covers.

A closer look at the picture reveals some other details.

The first is the frunk, which does appear to be shorter than the original prototype seen below at the Petersen Museum last year.

We also see the lack of door handles, which Musk has already shared will not be included on the production Cybertruck.

Instead, we see what appears to be an area on the lower part of the b-pillar to "swipe to open", just like on the prototype Roadster.

After the photo was shared on Twitter by Sawyer Merritt, another user posted an image with a number of Tesla employees getting an up close look at the same Cybertruck .

According to @Doubled_nono, the person who took the photo is an employee at Giga Texas, indicating the factory might already be able to produce limited numbers of the Cybertruck.

We will hopefully be getting many more details on the Cybertruck, including pricing and when it will enter production, later this week at the Q4 2021 earnings call.

Can you spot any other differences? What do you think of the new design of the Cybertruck? Let us know in the comments below.

Curious about the safety issues of some of the power-only controls like door handles. Already I'm not happy that the rear doors on the 3 don't have emergency (no power) opening but rear passengers rare in my car (well dogs).

How do emergency responders open a cyber truck if there's a power issue? Jaws of life?

Couple of videos have surfaced as well

Some observations: the alpha has chrome sidewall tires that match the aero covers shown on Teslas prototype and images.

The doors have buttons similar to what are found on the Ford Mach-e to open them
