I will be getting this for my Model 3, I like how its lowers in placement to The Law bracket. Also a third the cost and much easier/quicker to remove the plate if need be.

I'd worry how this bracket world impact aerodynamics. I'd rather pay a ticket.

EDIT: I am not joking on this. The air moving under the car plays a significant role in its aerodynamics.

Where's the bracket supposed to screw into? The plastic of the bottom of the nose? How will that hold up to a bump?

As shown on the product description page, the bracket screws into the front undershield. As you can see it's on the very forward part which is already sloping upward so if you are bumping it you'll have more to worry about than the bracket alone. I can tell you on my current car with my STO-N-SHO I've never hit it as even park stops and most curbs would be clear.

FYI It's two small holes drilled into the plastic shielding, absolutely nothing to with your warranty as ALL accessories are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which states;

"a manufacturer can only deny warranty coverage if it can demonstrate that a non-original equipment part or related service caused a defect to occur in the original product. In the case of motor vehicles, new car manufacturers have ignored these conditions outlined in Magnuson-Moss and have misled consumers to believe that they must have dealer service shops install only original equipment replacement parts or fear having their new car warranty voided."

The intended purpose for these is NOT that they be used as a permanent licence plate holder.

I can not speak for all states but in California a missing front plate is considered a "Fix It" ticket, meaning if you get a citation for a missing plate, you find any police officer, show that you now have a front plate mounted and they sign off indicating that you have fixed the code violation. You mail in the ticket with the signature and its a closed case. By the way, in California it is almost unheard of to get a ticket for this alone. Typically it is parking enforcement (meter maids) who will be issuing a parking ticket and while they are at it notice a missing plate and write you up for this as well.

The intended purpose of this product is to install it and then drive your car without the front plate. When and if you get a ticket, you just insert the front section that holds your licence plate and go find a friendly police officer to sign off on it.

Not true... their design goals are to meet the needs of those who live in states which require front plates AND;

1. Eliminate the need to drill into the front painted bumpers eliminating permanent and unsightly damage.
2. Allow for quick and easy removal for car show and maintenance purposes.

Get it.... STO-N-SHO? They are built to last and well designed. I'm sure you could use it as you implied, but I use them to NOT get a ticket in the first place.

How easy is it to get down there and drill the holes?

EASY, get two stone pavers or wood blocks (if you don't have ramps) drive the front tires up to give you a few inches of extra clearance for your drill, lay on the ground, drill two centered holes, bolt it up, done.

I'm actually more worried about someone bumping the license plate while parking in front of me and what effect the plate bracket would have on the nose, and the mounting point that seems to be just the edge of the shied, where it meets the nose...

All I can tell you is that there is a bit of give in the design which MAY allow some flexing of the forward section without damage in a minor bump along with keeping the other car off your paint.

With the factory plate bracket you would probably flex/crack the paint, with "The Law" bracket you'll prob have your grill snapped....it's really a no win situation in any case.
