What dictates the location of the blind spot video?

Several weeks ago I noticed that it had moved for a particular time I wanted to make a turn. I normally have it in the upper left position. But for this turn, it was in the upper right position. Then for the next turn, it was back where I had it.

I went through the settings to see if Tesla had added "location base" because this was not long after the location base trunk height was added. But I didn't see anything on the blind spot video positions. At any rate, I did click on the "Reset Location Based Trunk height" As well as the other location base item, I don't recall what that is at the moment.

So from that point on, whenever it moved to the right. I simply moved it to the left. And little by little, it remained to the left. Then for several weeks it remained there. Went on a road trip 4 hours away and suddenly it's back to the right. ARG!?!?!

Now that I am back home, I decided to put it at the bottom. Sure enough it randomly decides to pop up on the top side, mainly the left. But from time to time it goes to the upper right. Even when I left turn to get into the passing lane, pass that person and right signal. It had changed positions during that passing execution.

Any ideas?

When the side camera (blinker) view is on, you can drag it to where you want it and it will remember that. It is not location based. If you already have the Camera app running (where it shows the rear view camera with the two side cameras below it), the side camera will not show up as that view is already showing.

I have experienced a few times where I swear it moved on me but it's very rare - try dragging it to your preferred location next time the wrong location appears and see if it sticks.

Oh yeah, keep in mind that it will be tied to the driver profile you are using so it should stick based on profile to where you last specified.
