Curious on where everyone is going for their tire purchase/installation.

I did not know how to tire rack worked until I actually used them. So in case there’s other people are like myself, you order the tires online and they are then shipPeed to a local install shop like discount tire, who actually install them for you. It was pretty convenient but it takes a couple days of planning, so does the Tesla service center.

Is there a leaderboard anywhere for maximum range from a set of tires? The car software should keep up with all of this. I think I will add it with my canserver and micro display. I will just use a multitouch input to reset it

For reference; The tires I'm currently running were purchased from TireRack at a deep discount. Then discount tire did the mount/balance/install at a cost of +/- $100. So if you're gonna use TireRack, make sure you're getting a great deal, or you'll end up paying just as much plus the hassle. Plus, Discount Tire claims they'll match any competitors price, including TireRack.

When I got my tires a couple of months ago (Bridgestone Quiettrack 19") Discount Tire (Cumming on Market Place Blvd) beat both Tire Rack and Costco by about 100 bucks... And they did a stellar job installing them.

This is probably just paranoia and conspiracy but I do worry about companies like Costco, they are big enough to have the name brand tire manufacturers produce discount tires for them that are not of the same quality that are supplied with the original vehicle. I have not used Costco in a while but I was never impressed with the range I got from their tires.

Nope, they buy regular tires from the manufacturer like anyone else... However, they only deal with Michelin and Bridgestone so if you want something else, they are not for you. They WILL order tires from those two that they do not stock though. In actuality BTW, replacement tires are often of higher quality than OEM tires of the same manufacturer and type...

You can get Tesla tires anywhere and most shops now understand how to properly lift the car. I researched the tires I wanted and then went to our local tire shop that has been in business for 40 years. It took 2 days to get them in stock. Without telling them about my researched prices, the cost was almost identical to the big chains.
