I totally agree. Best $ spent. I installed the new one and it looks oem, looks like it came with the car installed.

I'm picturing me behind the wheel looking at it. And honestly I think that the steering wheel is in the way.

How much of the airflow is it cutting off? Seems that it is directly in the way of air to your midsection.

Ever have anything positive to say Ed? It doesn't obstruct airflow what so ever, it's air, it flows around it like water goes around a rock in a brook. As far as steering wheel, there is still room for an even taller one.

Most people complain about me being too positive. But when it comes to putting things behind a steering wheel, it's not for me.

Sorry, the A/C doesn't go it like a rock in a brook. I am quite familiar with the issue. As we are road tripping, I am often in the passenger seat with a laptop open, working. After a little bit I start to realize that I'm getting hot, really hot. That's when I remember that the screen of the notebook is blocking the airflow, just as it seems this device may.
It just seems as if the air is set to blow straight out (not split) and not pointed to the ceiling that this may impede the airflow.

Ever consider the heat may be coming from your laptop.
Absolutely! It wasn't. Tilt the screen so that the air isn't blocked and ahhhhh.... cool again.

BTW, that's not really the way that water flows either. We've got some streams around here that are common for kayaking or tubing. If there is a big boulder or even a concrete wall (like a bridge post) in the water, on the downstream side there tends to be either dead water or a hydraulic that can suck you under.

I was also thinking the same, but there is no airflow obstruction and the view is also clear. Check out the photo from the drivers perspective below...

Why do you say no airflow disruption? I can't see the vent behind it. Which suggests that you won't get airflow anywhere below the top of your head.

Your picture did answer another question I had, the speed on the little display is a lot lower than that of the standard display.

It does appear that you are in a different situation than I am. You can't see the bottom of the display.

I am using this unit for the last month or so, and my experience: no major airflow restriction. When I turn on the AC, I can feel the airflow on my face too. And the bottom visibility, probably I took the photo from little below my eye level, that is why u are seeing it cut. If u adjust the steering wheel accordingly, it should be good. I love it. Hope that helps answer ur question.

I ordered mine ( Satonic 4.6" ) from Ali-Express in octobre black Friday and got a real good deal. $123 Cdn delivered to my house. You can get the 4.6" cheap now that the 5.16" is out. Tesla Model 3 Y Ultra Mini LCD Dashboard

This morning I updated the software to see if it would fix 2 bugs mine had. The bugs were; On UI2 the clock would always revert to 12H when I had previously set it to 24H, it worked okay on UI1 but I prefer using UI2. ( UI stands for Universal Interface ) The other bug was highbeam indicator had stop working after an over the air Tesla update in December. This update cured both bugs.

Latest version is.

The HUDs that do it right, focus the information way out in front of you.
It displays on the windshield.
High quality HUDs reflect off the window, but they use optics technology to project well out in front of the car. You "see" it floating in the air, maybe 10 feet in front of you. This keeps you from having to change focus.
Exactly. My Camaro has HUD that reflects on the windshield. When you’re driving it looks as if the information is out about a foot and a half beyond the windshield. Great option. I’ve ordered a HUD for our Model Y. My wife’s only real complaint about th car is the lack of instrument cluster in front of her. Easily solved.

Problem I see with this Head's UP is the fact the display MOVES when turning or maybe hitting a bump? Plain as day in the video...what's up with that ?
I can't tell if that is the camera view moving or the unit. I know exactly how the unit works. I have seen it at CES several times. All HUD's biggest enemy is the SUN. Its why I think
a small monitor on the steering column may be the best.

You can think of the second screen as a potential backup if, heaven forbid, the main screen goes bad. I am considering the really small one for speed and % charge.
I have a question about your link. When I go there, it starts playing loud-ass music. I can't find any video that's open. When I mute the sound button on my computer, it stays quiet for about two seconds, then starts with the music again. Any way you know to stop the music? I like their website but the music is annoying. Thanks.
