Establishing Home Address

I recently moved and am having trouble with my Model Y thinking it's not at home. I've changed the home address on the navigation screen for both mine and my wife's driver profile but the car still doesn't recognize it's at home. ie - it locks itself and turns on sentry mode.
What am I missing???

It’s hit or miss. I’ve found my vehicles locked at home on occasion. Without changing anything it’d go back to staying unlocked at home. Sorry I don’t have an answer, but it seems like it’s a delay in GPS from establishing the precise location (which is needed for locking/sentry settings).

At first, I had an issue with the Home location. On the map, it would show the dot in the center of my house and the arrow over the carport, about 40' away. However, it would still use Sentry Mode when at home.

I deleted and re-entered Home location multiple times, then finally ignored it. After a couple of weeks, the car figured out that I was "Home" when I was at the carport. Since then, no issues.

Is there some way to mark your current location as Home or a Favorite, without entering an address? I can see times when current co-ordinates could be much more accurate than an address.

If you set your home location while it is parked at home, don't expect Sentry to know this and not lock. After you set your home location on the cars Touchscreen default HOME box, go for a short drive. Then the GPS will reset and know when you reach the home location.

We moved into a new development earlier this year, and when parked at home, the Tesla app displayed an address for previous roads on the property instead of my new home address. My fix was to put this bogus address in for my work address and tell it to ignore the work address for sentry mode as well as home, which worked. If your app does not display your exact actual home address when parked at home, you may want to try this, or maybe just try putting your home address in for your work address and ignoring work too. If you are still working, you can also list your home address as a favorite, and ignore favorites. Once GPS and map updates occurred, my problem was resolved.
