Autpilot might be explained about in the CAN decoding... there are four values: None, Highway, Enhanced, and FSD. Clearly this new $3000 option is Highway, and those of us that paid $5k get Enhanced. This has been in the works for a while...

Did all of us who bought EAP get screwed? NoA, autopark, advanced summon are now all Full self driving features...
It looks like this has something (everything?) to do with their decision to pull the $3,000 FSD add-on option late last year. This could go two ways. We get grandfathered in on the features that work with our cars like navigate-on-autopilot and summon since we paid $5,000 for "EAP".... and/or they are going to upgrade all of us who purchased EAP to the new hardware computer later this year so that we have FSD thrown in for being earlier adopters.... and at that point they refund everyone who paid $3,000 for FSD.

//edit Looks like @JWardell has this one figured out. I wonder if they will offer to upgrade those of us who got enhanced auto pilot to FSD for less than the $3,000 that was originally quoted. Musk has already said that advanced summon is coming to the cars with 2.5 hardware so it will be interesting to get the details on all of this.

I like the new pricing structure, particularly around autopilot for those that just wanted TACC and the like. I wonder which functions existing autopilot owners will keep and which will be FSD only.
I'm all for the lower price, but if they made TACC an individual item, I might be willing to get just that.

Granted, at the lower price, I might be willing to consider the whole thing. Of course, hearing about HW3 does make me curious what the new value proposition around FSD (or anything beyond EAP, really) is going to be soon.

Really? I just went through the order process and it only looks to be $750 less than when I purchased mine (same config minus EAP) last spring. Are you sure you're not using the 'savings' number instead of the out the door price?
EAP was $5000 and now it is $3000. That's an additional $2000 difference but including doc and delivery I paid $56,700. Right now it looks like it is $48,700

I actually think the standard interior looks great!

SR buyers are getting more than they could have dreamed of. They are still getting the glass roof. They are getting power folding mirrors. They are getting center armrest and other features I suspected Tesla might have eliminated.

If we get grandfathered in with a free FSD upgrade that would be pretty fantastic and a bit beyond expectations. Would also help us earlier adopters who got hit with the price lowering at the start of the year. But I also got my full $7500 tax credit so I can't complain too much.

It's an absurd price difference for a 7 month differential.

I will still recommend a Tesla, but never, ever, ever will I recommend early buying. I completely understand where Tesla is at and how the larger purchases are funding the pathway to lower cost Teslas, but this timeline is absolutely absurd.

I 100% have buyer's remorse.

Even after factoring the tax credit change the same configuration car I purchased in September 2018 is about $3,000 less expensive today. It's actually even cheaper than that since the lower MSRP would affect sales tax, registration fees and cost to insure.

This. How do we get them to throw us a bone? Lol I wasn't even THAT early. I bought mine a year after they started deliveries.

AP is $3k but is essentially just TACC. FSD is $5K PLUS $3K fee of AP for a total of $8000.00.
What the heck no does this mean for us that currently have EAP? Menu is showing FSD as containing nav on autopilot (which us with EAP already have), autopark (we only have parallel now), and summon (we have the basic but not yet the teased come find you version).

Also note that FSD is no longer available off menu for me (noticed this as soon as the website update went live).

Well... this is going to be confusing. Will EAP become FSD? If so what happens if you bought FSD already? Surely features won't be taken AWAY from EAP (they'd be a mutiny for sure). Refund for FSD? Partial FSD for those already purchased EAP but not FSD? Confusion, confusion.....

When you include the available tax credit (what's left of it), it's only a $750 difference.

If you're not eligible for the full credit or are somewhere where that doesn't impact you, then yes, it may be a more significant hit.

Personally, I'm not going to lose any sleep over $750 for a car I've been driving for 9 months already, but I do understand why some may not be happy with. It's not a new phenomenon, though. I've heard complaints from folks who ordered before price drops or changes to the hardware within weeks. It has been a thing well before the 3 was in the lineup and will be, in the future.

What are you talking about? Without taking tax credits into consideration there is an $8000 difference. I got the $7500 tax credit. If I bought now I would only get the $3750 tax credit but that is still a difference of $4,250.

Yeah.. I was just looking at that myself. I'm confused. I kind of remember it saying Enhanced Autopilot before, and now it's just autopilot. Maybe that's the difference? Been a while since I've looked at the configuration pages.

The Autopilot package I bought back in September for $5000 is substantially different from the new offering. The new Autopilot package is $3000 but it excludes many of the features that are included in mine. These missing features are now part of the FSD package sold for an additional $5000. Maybe we, the early adopters, have been upgraded to FSD by default. All we are missing are "reponding to red lights and stops" and "automatic street driving". Granted, that last one is a big one. It would be nice if Tesla gave us a preferential pricing for the Hardware 3 that coming soon.
