Model Y Poor Camera Function

I owned a Model 3 since 2019. Just bought a new 2024 Model Y. On my first weekend with the car the Auto Steer and FSD features were horrible. I'm mostly concerned about the Auto Steer (I'm not going to pay for FSD). At night on the freeway I regularly got messages that the "multiple cameras blocked or blinded" and "left door pillar camera blocked or blinded". The weather and roads were perfectly clear. I never had this problem with my Model 3 unless it was snowing or raining. Maybe 50% of the time I could change lanes with Auto Steer engaged. The other 50% I'd get these messages. Is the technology on the new Model Y completely inferior to a 2019 M3? Is anyone else having these issues? Tesla service remotely says there are no hardware or software issues.

With a new vehicle, it can be awful. It needs to be updated.

Auto-steer is a part of the FSD package, without the paid option all you will get is autopilot, which does not include lane changes. you would have to do the lane changes manually and re-engage autopilot.

I had the same situation in my last two night time highway runs. I doubt there is a problem with the hardware, I am more inclined to think the error messages are related to the way the cameras are used - programming related - when driving in FSD. I have the FSD 12.5.4.1 version on my 2024 Model Y LR AWD which has the HW4 and I got the message you are talking about pretty frequently in my two last runs and when I disabled FSD, I couldn't get it back unless I turned to plain AP then back to FSD. I never got the same message while in plain AP. I do not get any error message when driving during daytime and I don't have to clean any camera for it.
