Does anybody know if/when/where we will be able to buy only the inserts?

I bough the EV01 (not the EV01+) to have them before the winter tire limit here in Quebec (Dec 1st), assuming that I would be able to buy the inserts later on, but pmctire.com told me they're not selling the inserts only.
Oh you most definitely can buy them separately!
Our sales rep for that region reached out to one of the owners at PMC, Yannick, and he explained this was just a bit of confusion on the part of their staff, which has since been cleared up.
He still asked that you contact him directly though to ensure the order is correct, his email is: yplante@pmctire.com

For reference, part number for the 18" insert kit is 72354BT, which is a box of 5 inserts and the longer screws needed to install them for 1 wheel, so you will need 4 of them.
Current ETA on them to our warehouse is December 10th.

Well, mine got delivered today. They look nice, the stepped hub for the P3D+ is there ;)

Sadly, one wheel got mishandled in shipping, and it's visibly bent :( So, more headache getting these installed, since the tires are already at the installer, waiting for these.

In general, I think the cardboard for the boxes is kinda flimsy. You guys may want to make it heavier duty to prevent these things.

So sorry to hear that!
We actually are using some of the heaviest gauge cardboard in the industry for both the exterior box and the protective inserts. Unfortunately some of the carriers seem to treat them like they're handling sacks of hammers, we actually had one dealer send us security camera footage of a driver that was throwing the wheels out the back of his truck on to the concrete loading ramp 6 feet out and 3 feet down. It was painful to watch :(.

As fun as driving around with summer tires in the MN winter has been, I finally installed my +35 offset EV01s w/ Nokian Hakka R3s last night. After ordering the EV01s a few months back I can definitely say they were well worth the wait. Both the aero inserts & wheels are well made and they look even better in person when installed on the car (IMO a night & day improvement over the OEM Tesla Aero Wheels). Did I mention that these fit a Model 3 Performance w/ PUP without requiring spacers?

I took a few pictures that I have shared below however if you want me to post more angles let me know. Looking forward to seeing the efficiency gains compared to last winter w/ 19” turbines!

Nice!!

But good Lord... have you really been driving around in THIS on the 20" PS4's???

Hahaha, yes unfortunately! I thought the PS4s were almost bald however I measured them yesterday and they still have 6.5-7/32nds left on them so I guess I'll get some more use out of them next year (yay). I tried to avoid driving the car until the roads were plowed however last Wednesday I had an AM appointment and of course it just snowed 7 inches... (Joy) Had some squirrly moments but made it to my destination and back "safely", definitely should have had the go pro recording... Also based on a similar experience from last year, the improvements introduced with stop mode really helped with braking and overall confidence in handling this worst-case configuration (especially when paired with the worst-case conditions).

The replacement wheel finally arrived, so I finally had tires mounted and installed. Looks pretty nice on black car. Hopefully the inserts would undo part of the efficiency damage due to RA flaps.

What's the official recommendation for hooning in the snow with the covers mounted? I'm concerned that if I did, the covers might pop/break from snow accumulating behind them. Any word?

Paging @Mad Hungarian
Any advice on this?
I can tell you from the outset that we WAY overbuilt the Aero inserts exactly for this reason, they're about twice the thickness of any of the OEM ones we examined and pretty heavily cross-braced as well.
Hoon away!

The perfect fit for a PUO car is 18x8.5 +35 with a stepped 70.2/64.1 center bore as seen on the OE wheel. The +40 offset is what's used on all non-Performance-Upgrade cars. We initially will only be offering the +40 version but it will be available with the correct stepped bore for Performance Upgrade brakes in the first batch. We also offer 5 mm 70.2 mm hubcentric forged spacers if you want to bring the offset back to the OE +35 (that's how my car is setup right now).
However we just got the green light to produce a dedicated +35 part number for the PUO car which should be available in a later production run, I'm thinking late November or December.
OK, this might be a silly question but in the M3 manual, it states that the offsets for all 3 tire sizes is 40 mm. There is no mention of the performance version being different or +35mm anywhere. So where are you getting the perfect fit for PUO cars as +35mm? I just want the exact OEM fit that my 20" has. Dont want to use spacers etc.

Love the wheels btw!

The manual is wrong. The Performance brakes have a rotor hat that is 5mm thinner than the standard brakes. That's why the offset is 5mm different.

@Mad Hungarian explains this difference at 2m24s within this video:

Actually you're both right... the confusion stems from Tesla offering the 20" Sport wheel with two offsets.
The one that comes as standard equipment on the Performance car is +35, however you can also buy it as an optional accessory for any non-Performance Model 3 in a +40 version.

Thank you for clarifying!
Two questions:

1) I cannot find on canadawheels.ca a version that is 18x8.5 with a +35mm offset and a 64.1 bore. Does that exist, and if not, would it mean some kind of spacer, cap or hub spacer would be needed if I get the 70.2 with +35mm offset (or 64.1 with +40mm offset?) Tsportline offers the 18x8.5 with +35mm offset and 64.1bore.

I watched the video above.

EDIT: Found the answer from hungarian in earlier post that the +35mm and 70.2 would not need any rings or caps. They fit exactly like the OEM performance 20"wheel.

This means that this wheel would be a perfect match for a M3P with red calipers: https://www.canadawheels.ca/fast-wheels/ev01-plus-titanium-w179562

Too bad they are out of stock...

I still dont understand how both Tsportline with a 64.1 bore and these wheels with 70.2 both claim no spacers or hub spacers are needed.

2) I would buy these wheels for max efficiency. Where I live its 99% of the time over 40F. What would be some great choices for max efficiency (and comfort) when it comes to tires?

Sorry if this was answered already, I have tried to research this now for a few days and keep getting confused... I got a 2018 M3P with the PUO (red calipers).

See a pic of the stepped center bore in post #202. It starts at 70.2 and then becomes 64.1
Yes, I understand how it works, I was just wondering why Tsportline says its 64.1 and no spacers needed for PUO, and mad hungarian says its 70.2 and also no spacers needed. Something is not adding up properly.

They're always out of stock. You need to call them to place an order for the EV01s.
Thanks for the info!

Or buy the one's w/o the covers , and then order the covers.
Thats a great idea, I might just do that.

Now... if anyone got some advice on tires that have a softer sidewall, and yet highly efficient. I wanna get my Wh/mile down to 240 ish range. It is at 300 now...

If anyone happens to be looking at these rims and has Mountain Pass performance front rotors, let me know if you find out they fit - or don't - please ;)

Just got the new EV01s mounted on the car today. I was waiting for ... Thor-approved torque wrench and socket. My other car is happy with 88 ft-lb, apparently the Model 3 not so much.
I thought I take a before and after picture of the front wheels for those wondering what's the difference between the 20" OEMs and the EV01s.

The angle on the EV01 picture is slightly downwards compared to the stock picture, but it's easy to get an idea.

With regards to the tires, I got the Sotto Zeros 3. I can say there is definitely a difference in ride feeling between the OEMs and these ones. For one, I don't feel anymore every little pebble on the road. Now I actually feel like I was driving on tank tracks with the 20"s compared to these ones. Not sure how much is the wall height or the fact that they are softer (winter tires)

One thing that I was surprised is that the front wheels were not blocked by the park brake. I made sure to long press the Park button and confirmed the Park Brake icon on the display, but the front wheels were still free spinning with the car on the lift.
