I have a bulge of less magnitude than the photo - it doesn't go past the black area on the windshield. I don't notice it when driving but it bothers be a bit that it's there. I'm not planning to do anything about it until a robust fix is available. The few reports I've seen of people getting theirs fixed have seen the problem return.

I just checked mine, it looks like there just wasn't an anchor point designed for that particular portion on the pillar cover.

Mine is less than you's though so hopefully they'll find a pillar cover that fits better.

 

I have the same problem and it looks awful on both side 105XX. Biggest issue right now is that they refuse to align the doors properly. If you guys know a good lemon law attorney I am approaching that option very fast.

Yes there is an issue on both side. Apparently there is a bulletin about this issue telling them not to touch it until a new part is made that all parts come bulging... and it is for both side :S

 

Well my right side is flawless and the left side, well you saw the picture. Will be interesting to see the outcome Thursday when I get it back.

 

Hum interesting. Well keep me posted. When I get my car back Monday I'll post the long list of things fixed and the ones that arn't. But if the panels are still really bad I am not prepared to accept the car. Biggest mistake was to succumb to the pressure and accept it in the first place.
As I said if I could use a time machine I'd travel back to tell myself not to sign and while there I'd play the lottery as well

 

VIN# 152xx, Yes, on both sides, thanks to your pictures I found out right away on my delivery date and they said they will order parts to replace them. Also have similar loose above-rear-window trim issues both sides like yours, too(feel like rubber sponge to squeeze on, but hard to tell without touching them.

 

I do, but not enough to bother me. I also have a not-quite-tight fit where the pillar covers connect above the passenger side doors. It's fine on the driver's side, but noticeable on the passenger side. Probably still won't get it fixed.

 

I have that as well on both sides and that is to be corrected Thursday as well.

Mine does too, but not enough to bother me. The Dallas SC said there are more wires through there and no clips in the middle. Plus there were told that is normal so there is no fix for it. I will be interested in this supposed new part that they are working on and what happens with the repair for @SoFlaModel3

Yes and mine are Alcantara I think? 2xxx series car.

 

Ohh in that case I'd keep the bulge otherwise you may get a car back without alcantara.

Don't expect a fix from the service center. I went in a few days back and they deemed that the A and C pillars were both "within specs". I didn't press it, but I will, if I start hearing about others getting this minor issue fixed.

 

Vin 67xx. Driver side too. Taking car to SC on Monday.

 

Vin 18XXX rolled off the assembly line on April 10 and no issues here

 

Vin 47XX. I voted awhile ago, I'm apparently one of the lucky few that don't have the bulge. I just popped in to view the latest vote tally... yikes.

Still looks like there is a bulge although less noticeable.

 

Just picked mine up today and have a pretty significant bulge. Have a couple of other issues and they said they would send someone out for home service to repair/replace.

 

I called the local service tech and sent pics. They committed to ordering a new trim piece about two weeks ago. Waiting to hear back... VIN 15XXX

 

The service center replaced mine last week and now it looks perfect! .

 

Yes, I was wondering if anyone else had this bulge. When I brought it in for Tesla service, the guy told me that this is the same for other Model 3s. I replied that I heard that same thing from Ford when I complained about an issue. And Chevy. And Lincoln. I told him I expected a different reply from Tesla. Tesla stated they could replace it, but thought that the next one would have the same problem.

It will be good to wait for an improved trim piece with a better connection.

I'm thinking they didn't expect the material to have so much "sag" at that point. I have the bulge but I don't notice it if i think about it. Hopefully they'll have a fix soon. The only thing I can think about it maybe having the part or mold in a longer rigid piece with the pillar anchors running along the window side to keep it taught.

Today it was 93° in the car when I came back to it and the drivers A pillar trim was noticeably more bulgy.
I wonder if it is worth the hassle. I don’t see anyone getting a good resolution on this yet

Drivers side only. I also have the rubber lining on the passenger side disconnecting so was going to call for service... I'll add the bulge to the list and see what they say.

 

Bulge was one of my issues when I dropped off the car on Wednesday. Tech who checked me in said even the replacement parts still have bulges, but he's gotten a good one, so it's a pretty bad quality control (but we all know this). He said they'll apply a "local fix" whatever that turns out to be. They are going to address both pillars on mine.
