OK, I'll explain another way.
first the audio. Most euro cars I've owned have auto volume on them. So when I'm listening to music, the volume changes compared to the noise outside, so when you go faster, the audio goes up automatically. Unless I've missed something, Tesla don't have this. Therefore, because the m3 is quite a noisy car...as in wind noise v's quiet electric car, I find I change the volume a dozen times or so on my commute that is either moving at 60mph or stationary in traffic. So I use the LH scroll wheel to go up and down the volume often. My last car was a smart EV, this had the option, I rarely changed the volume of the music as when I slowed to a stop the volume went down. Heck, my 1995 Peugeot had it.

Wipers
In blighty, especially this time of year, we get drizzle. This is like a slight mist or even fog. It's not rain, but it's not dry. The wipers hold off for a long time before they auto wipe. It's also dark this time of year on my commute...I'm talking, dark when I get up and dark when I leave the office and it's like pea soup, so I have to manually wipe by pressing the button on the end of the stalk. No issue with this whatsoever.

Both of these things are not a problem on their own. However, since they introduced this option to scroll up and down the wiper setting using the volume scroll wheel, I find myself adjusting the wipers now and then by accident.

Scenario....
I pull out on the A127 near my house, a dual carriage way that has traffic sometimes, other times it's moving at 70mph, so I pull out and accelerate.....best wipe the screen as it's a bit misted over and can't quite make out what's going on up ahead with all the brake lights in the dark and the auto wipe has not done anything yet. Then inevitably, there's heavy traffic 200yards up the road, I want to turn the music down a bit...now I accidently turn the wipers off and the music is still loud.

Now I have to think about when I have manually wiped, which is about 50 times on my commute and try to remember not to change the volume of that advert that's just come on my podcast for at least 5seconds after pressing the wiper button.

All I'd like is an option to turn off that pop up menu for the wipers. Sounds like my answers already there.......NO OPTION.

I know some people don't have a problem with auto wipe and to be fair, I don't have a problem with how it was because I just press the button to wipe, it's just a little irritant when the volume function is lost for a bit when you do this. In the summer, I don't touch the manual wipe, only in these dark dismal days do I need to wipe the mist building up on the screen to be able to see the idiot on the bicycle with no lights.

Sorry for long post.
You seem to be unaware of the driver's volume control and possibly the wiper.

Left scroll wheel on the steering wheel to control volume.

If older Model 3, left stalk, button at end. In the newer ones, I believe it is a press button on steering wheel. Both of those do a single wipe.

At no time do you even need to look or touch screen.

Thanks for the details and rewording. That's how I understood your earlier writeup about the scroll wheel issue you have. Would voice command just for the volume control help? Less frequently done and quite easy. Volume down, volume up, etc.

Cheers.
It would for sure, I only use voice for a couple of things to be honest. Mainly to fold the mirrors when passing another car on one of the small roads I use.
