Hi

I have a 2019 Model 3 AWD. I'm currently on firmware 2024.45.32. My issue started though on 2024.44.25.2. The LTE connection has begun falling out from time to time. Wi-Fi always works fine It started 22nd of December whilst I was on 2024.44.25.2. Suddenly LTE signal was gone. On the 23rd it got back again. Before again dissapearing. Now I',m on firmware 2024.45.32 - it's still happening. It got working again after upgrade and reboot. Comes and goes. Service center says it might be electronical issues and has proposed a fix which includes changing the eCall system electronics board. But my experience with them from previous service-visits is that they don't know what they are talking about. I've also read on other Tesla forums similar people are having issues with LTE. I have eSIM in the car. Anyone else have this issues or have any advice on how to fix this? I do not have service mode plus. This is how it looks like when the LTE is down:

I'm noticing a similar issue when I leave home; it seems to now have trouble switching from home wifi to cellular service. I use Apple Music and I sometimes get a spinner when trying to play a song after laving home; I pick another track or different music source and switch back to get it to work. There's been other threads related to this. I have also noticed random issues where, for example, navigation will state that there is no traffic data because there is no network connection. Happens rarely but still noticeable after recent software updates. Hopefully these will be addressed/improved in upcoming updates.

Since 2024.44.25.2, TuneIn stops playing when my vehicle switches from Wi-Fi to cellular. It also stopped showing artist and title information on SomaFM stations on TuneIn.

My current workaround for both of these issues is streaming SomeFM via TuneIn to the vehicle over Bluetooth.

Disabling Wi-Fi may be another workaround, but I prefer to keep my vehicle connected to Wi-Fi so it can upload driving data.

A day, or hours. It varies. At first on 2024.44.25.2 it came back on it's own. But on 23rd of December it was gone again. I've been at different locations in the last week over christmas. Even in 3 different countries. It fell out here and there in all three so it can't be the weak signal. I'm driving around in Scandinavia. It's always been consitent at home. Now it can fall out. Yesterday, it fell out again. This morning it was back on again. Later this afternoon it fell out again. I drove off, and suddenly it came back on it. I do not know which provider it's supposed to be on. As from the picture I could try to test modem and LTE antennas but I doubt it will fix it?

I forgot to say. I did try the modem test on the previous firmware. I got some of these errors as well. I cannot say for 100% sure if it's the exact same. but i remember it was a lot of text-info just like the ones I showed in the screenshots. If I do the software reinstall will it just reinstall the newest I have? I read here: Software Reinstall - Touchscreen that it includes having to connect a LV battery maintainer or something to the car. Does this also needs to be done? Asking because I do not want to brick my Tesla :)

Hopefully this is fixed in a future firmware update. I've postponed my service appointment with Tesla on this, just incase it can be solved. No point in paying for swapping a card whilst the problem still exsist. They claim though through pre-checks from their side that it's a issue with the power-connection to the LTE board which might cause the issue. How can they remote-diagnose this remotely is beyond me. But since more people are experiencing this issue, it might just be a world-outage at Telefonica? If thus, it's an extremely critical thing for Tesla which they need to fix.

I take that back. It's still an issue. Just before getting 2025.2 the LTE got offline again. Thought upgrading to 2025.2 would fix it. But alas, no. It's been like this for days now. Either Telefonica/KPN has issues again(?) or it's a electronic failure. Anyone else having some idea or hints?

I have had similar issues but something that I've experienced is that after I supercharge my LTE comes back but then will fade away in about a day but if it makes it past the 24hr mark it'll stay for awhile then have its issues again till something triggers it to come back on. One of my thoughts was a fuse issue because they usually stay down for about 24hrs then reset. (my 12v tire pump sometimes shorts out the system and will start working 24hrs later) Not sure if anyone has had similar issues.

I have the same issue in NJ. It started with the holiday update. Before that no issues since I got the car 6 months earlier. No problems with the previous car for 3.5 years. I keep hoping it gets fixed with an update and sometimes it changes a bit with an update but the problem is still there. I start the car in the garage where I have strong Wi-Fi and LTE. Within a minute after I reverse out of the garage Wi-Fi switches to LTE and get a TuneIn loading error. Fooling around with TuneIn usually gets it started again. I tried scroll wheel and hard reset but the problem remains.

So far with the most recent updates I haven’t had any issues. Something it’s gone for a drive but then randomly comes back. This happens probably 1 every 100 drives. If you plan to take it to the service center have pretty close to exact timestamps of when the lte goes out. Should save you a lot of money with the trouble shooting. The one time I took mine in it was currently working because I had to stop at a super charger to get there so they just uninstalled everything even my account kinda like a factory reset and it’s been better since. Hopefully this is helpful

I solved my problem. I turned off WI-FI and selected my home network and forget this network. Car is now always connected to LTE even when in my garage. It’s been about 10 days and no problems. Before it lost connection every day. Car stays connected to same tune-in station all the time with no disconnects. An added benefit is when a software update is available you get a message to connect to WI-FI to download. So no surprise updates and having my wife call me from the road trying to figure how to do something the update has changed.
