So you had to order them? What I was told by Tesla is the badges are slowly arriving at service center to backfill the dual motor cars which already taken delivery but didn't have the badges when delivered.
I did not have to order (badge for my P3D Stealth) - they put it on my ticket unprompted when in for work the other month - I told them not to install and they handed it to me.

Also @Rick Steinwand I recall reading somewhere that Tesla has a template they whip out when installing so they should be able to share dimensions, I'd hope!

Am I the only one that thinks these badges are going to be SERIOUS dirt collectors? The way the car is designed, the back of the car is a dirt magnet as it is. I think the badging will be a pain to clean around (The "T" is already that way). I am torn as to whether I will get it or not.

You raise a good point. The place I have noticed the most dirt accumulating on my car is the rear bumper panel below the trunk. That said, I have a LR RWD, so if I were to do any badging, it would be a third party solution. I think you just sealed the argument NOT to do it.

Here are some rough dimensions from my car:

6 5/8" in total length.
2 1/2" from bottom to red line.
9" from right edge of trunk to D.
1/4" between "Dual Motor" and red line.

Hope that helps!

do we need to drill holes or this just double sided tape job for install? if i buy a genuine badge from ebay (don't want the wait), will it come with the required tapes or other mounting material?

So far there's no more dirt than I would expect on the already, as you said, dirt collecting back.

While I was at a shop powder coated my wheels this weekend I noticed another customer's Model 3 has a silver "Dual Motor" badge on the lower right corner of the trunk. The owner said it came with the car when he took delivery beginning of November. I took delivery around the same time and how come my dual motor doesn't have that badge?

Anyone else has this? I wonder if I can get one from the local service center.
I took my 3AWD in for service a few days ago and they said they were going to add the Dual-Motor badging, but then they didn't because "parts not available". Actually, they didn't do any of the planned service because no parts were available for any of it.

Had a Nov 20 delivery and it already had the badge on it. I'm thinking in a few more Saturdays when it warms up and I have an extra hour it will be coming off. These are not that big and definitely takes a few extra minutes when washing and cleaning to get inside all of those letters. The letters are only maybe 5/8" tall, so makes it difficult.

Plus - I reported elsewhere, the only question or conversation that has come of the badge was someone asking if that meant it had an electric and a gas motor. That person happened to be an MD and really likes cars, but doesn't follow Tesla. I'm OK without the badge.

Haven't read all the replies...just my experience:

I went in for service the other week *early January*, and while there, they asked 'would you like us to apply the dm badge while you're here'?
...now I have a dm badge.
Check with your SC and I bet they'll fix you up.

I emailed Tesla Support and they sent someone out to install my Dual Motor Badge within a few days, I think it really depends on if the Tesla SC has them in stock or not. I ended up removing it after getting my PPF / Ceramic Coating and went with the Tesla Performance Emblem from AO. I think it looks a lot more cleaner imo.

The service center I went to couple weeks ago was not a full blown service center, they told me they don't stock any DM badges. When I called TESLA, they told me my local service center will contact me when my badge arrives there. Appearently for deliveries prior to late November, badges have to be back ordered. They checked my vin and my badge is on the waiting list.

Mobile Service came out and installed my badge in December. However, they scratched up that area by wiping it down with a dry rag.

SC buffed out clear coat scratches a couple weeks ago, but there was scratch in the paint they couldn't buff out.

Yesterday, SC had paint guy repair the scratch. I picked up car and noticed that badge was gone.

SC told me they didn't have a badge, but Mobile Service could come out and install one...

Just realized it's Groundhog Day today!

Of course I'm laughing at Groundhog Day ... not the pain you're experiencing with the paint.
