Are we talking about this screw that's under the passenger footwell for this one obscure speaker? The screw seems kind of small for the one that goes for the PWS, 🤷
Correct. That’s the screw. I asked service about it and that’s the screw they give. It’s just screwing into plastic

So I just got my speaker today, pigtail should be arriving in two days so this gives me time to plan or at least start routing the wires. Will it be easier if I take the frunk out or is it possible to do this without
Taking the front tub off is less than a 2-minute job. I believe you would have to in order to get to the rubber garment that's in the firewall. But you still have to take the fender liner off on the wheel well to mount the actual speaker as the front air dam baffle unit covers up the majority of everything down there

i gotcha okay I know removing the frunk is easy, I just didn’t know if it would be necessary.
It’s easier to remove the passenger splash guard and the bottom of front bumper.
Hopefully I can go this route but I may just have to take out the tub

The car completely restarted itself, cleared all data even the tripometer.
I do have the correct wires tapped right?
What's weird is I didn't originally plug in the little speaker at the bottom of the footwell back in.. I plugged it back in and now everything seems to be back to normal my Tesla profile came back and showing correct speed limit signs...
But I do not hear any sound admitting from the PWS speaker whatsoever.. do the wires specifically have to be tapped a specific way. Like positive and negative. Or does it matter?

Those wires look like the right ones. Positive and negative don't matter. You might have to let the car go to sleep in order order for the PWS to work.

Thank you for confirmation on the wires I don't see any others that don't look like the ones in the original post. Just freaked me out when the car rebooted and had no Tesla profile attached and had a Euro sign post.. seems to be back in order and I have mobile access back with my Tesla profile. I have rebooted the car at least three times and still no sound emitting from the speaker. Just have the speaker chilling in the car and have to find a fishing wire to fish through the firewall... I don't want to make a service ticket if I can't get the speaker working at all to begin with at it's current state. As reading online the car should at least emit the reverse ufo sound.

So let the car sit overnight in deep sleep mode and still no sound emitting from the speaker.
Rebooted the car again and still no go.
Are we sure the car would emit the sound for the PWS speaker even though it's not active in the software?

That's how it was for my early 2018 Model 3. The speaker worked right away as a PWS. And now that I think about it, I believe that it would stop working after the car went to sleep. I can't remember if the only way to get it back was to power down and disconnect the 12v battery and harness under the rear seat. This was also a year ago, so the behavior may have changed as well.

So I was able to successfully install it with sounds working. But so far no luck with Tesla service, two reps so far are insisting it’s impossible to change the config no matter how much money and proof I offer. Any tricks?

update: on my third attempt the last service advisor waited for mine to come in again just to deny it after I told him I was going to just request again.

@android04, any chance you could upload a screen grab of your paid invoice. You can still block out all your PII but if you could leave the invoice number unblocked. I have a service advisor getting smart with me about your other screen grab that I sent being an “estimate which isn’t indicative of services being completed”

I didn't realize the app has an invoice that shows PAID on there. When I saved my original invoice Tesla would send out multiple copies and they all looked pretty much the same.

Here you go, along with the actual conversation I had with the service center employee on the Tesla app. This was all done remotely while my car was parked in the garage.

I appreciate you getting back to me, hopefully this will help someone else. Mine basically told me they don’t care and that they shouldn’t have done this for you. I’ve made 7 attempts so far, 4 of them ended up with the same advisor who just kept getting smart with me. The last one seemed to insist that this is impossible and that they can’t do it. Also tried going to an SC in person with no luck. Idk what to do anymore

try to go to multiple places, don't stick with one. I went as far as 100 miles away just to try
